Clinical Supervision for Private Practice

Are You Ready to Launch Your Private Practice?

You’re embarking on a rewarding new chapter in your career, and you’re looking for some guidance along the way.

I’m here to help.

Finding the right clinical supervisor is an important step toward becoming the clinician you want to be, and to building the career you want to have. You may have some anxiety about your abilities with clients or around what it takes to be financially successful. That’s ok. Your associateship is the ideal time to develop those strengths.

I offer clinical supervision rooted in mindfulness and evidence-based protocols. The practice building program I’ve developed creates scaffolding for new professionals to help you through the initial struggles of building a new practice.

About Me

I knew I wanted to be in private practice on my first day of graduate school. In fact, one of the reasons I chose the LMFT route is because I could start working for myself as an associate.

I was lucky enough to find a practicum supervisor who supported me in this. With his help and guidance, I started building my practice before I’d even graduated.

By the time I had my associate license the following year, my practice could almost pay the bills. I’ve made some expensive mistakes along the way, but the business consistently grew year after year. I’ve never needed (nor wanted!) another job since.

Along the way, my clinical supervisors challenged me to expand my clinical skills and really taught me how to be a therapist.

It is in gratitude to the many teachers who helped me find success that I decided to become a supervisor myself.

Are We The Right Fit?

This is the most important question to ask. The best supervisor in the world would be a poor choice if what you want to get out of the process is not what they are offering.

In my clinical work, I’ve focused on adult individuals and relationships, using mindfulness-based and research-backed protocols. I do not work with children. If that’s your preferred population, I’m probably not the right supervisor for you. If your goal is to work in an agency or other institution, and you don’t want to worry about the uncertainty of owning your own business, I respect that choice but I’ll want to reserve my limited space for someone else.

I currently have several openings for new associates. If you’ve read about my approach, and you think I might be a good fit for the supervision experience you’re looking for, submit an application!
